The stupidity of some people never fails to impress me

Today while I was out running errands I watched a POS (Piece Of Shit) minivan have an engine fire start while driving down the road.  Then what does the moron driving it do?  Of course he pulls into a GAS STATION and stops right next to the pumps then bails out!  The convenience store clerk came out at a dead run carrying a wimpy fire extinguisher; but he managed to keep it down a bit before the cop cruising by stopped and hit it with another.  Luckily, a fire station was only about 4 blocks away so we were saved a significant event.

Some people are just too stupid to be allowed to live.

Expected front row

At the Hungaroring it's RB 1-2 and Ferrari 3-4.  We'll see what Charlie does about the flexy front wings, if anything. He's said they meet the rules and are legal, but as with most things in F1, the rules are, shall we say, flexible...

Beautiful, wonderful cooling fog

It's foggy this morning!  I love fog, the world coated in a muffling layer of cloud.  Cool, quiet, diffused light; the spiderwebs outlined in jewels of condensed cloud.

Brain-dead this morning

Coffee's on and oatmeal cooking.  Those should help.

You know you're getting old...

When you teabag the water when you sit down on the toilet.

I just love pooping at the mall;guy next me was saying over and over, "Dropping the kids off at the pool."

Leaving on a jet plane

Not me, Mrs Bristol.  Headed out to the airport to send her on her way to Mom's for her Dad's memorial service.  I'm not going, better all around that way.

The kittens

They have the run of the house now. The old cat isn't really happy
about it, but by getting 2, he isn't forced to be the play toy; they
beat on each other. The energy level in this house right now is
through the roof and it's funny to watch. But when
they wear out, you can almost hear the thud when they collapse.

Detritus from a previous occupant

Not as zoomed in as usual.  Really guys, if your ass explodes and there's the chance of blowback, check under the seat and clean up after yourself...

Interesting front row

Looks like Ferrari is coming alive; 'bout time!

German GP at Hockenheim

Time to watch qualifying.  There's rain in the area and I do love a rain race.  The season is half over and if Red Bull can get their shit together they have a real chance to get at least one title.

New kittens!

Just picked up two new female kittens.  They are 2-months old, both gray, one tabby and one not and are littermates.  Right now they are tearing up the office.

Fun will ensue when I get home...

Not a lot to say recently

And I apologize for that.  I have a couple of posts maturing in my brain, should bear fruit soon.

Another week alone

Mrs. Bristol will be headed back to her Mom's for her Dad's memorial.  She'll be gone a week, so it will be just me and the cat (and maybe a kitten or two) taking care of ourselves.  I think we'll manage.

I'm not going because I refuse to put up with the abuse her mother dishes out when she's drunk.  After the last visit I decided I will only visit her again with the rule that if she treats either of us with disrespect, I'm out of there.  And Mrs Bristol really doesn't want that at this time.

Lazy Sunday

I should continue work on getting the house ready for paint, but I don't think I'm up to it today.  Feeling run-down and logy.

Hangfire

That's the term used in  black powder shooting for when you pull the trigger, the hammer falls, and all you get is nothing.  It describes much of my life right now; I've done what I need to do, but nothing is happening.

Summer has returned

It took some time off, but has graced us with its presence again.

To make this post actually useful, (I know, why start now?) take a look at the 5 Grammatical Errors That Make You Look Dumb.  http://j.mp/9nC4PH

Cow-orkers

We all have them (at least those of us who are employed...)  I have four in my office, all 50-ish males, I'll start with Frustrated.

Frustrated is a Capital PL Progressive Liberal.  He wears his (bleeding) heart on his sleeve and is as intense as sunlight at noon on Mercury.  He's also a drama king and never. lets. anything. go.  He wonders why he has no woman in his life.  He had such high hopes when Obama was elected; we were going to be out of Iraq and Afghanistan by the end of the year, everyone was going to have free, single-payer health care, manna was goingto fall from the heavens.  Obviously, it hasn't happened that way.

More later.

Summer has been and gone

This morning it was 50 and raining.  Yay!

I left the SW to get away from excessive heat; and here, the land of most houses not having AC, high 80s is excessive.

British GP

Time for the FOX coverage of the race.  Too bad we lose all the pre-race info we get when the coverage is on SPEED.

The Mrs is home!

Back to bed.

Appears I spoke too soon

"Ring of Fire" is stuck in my head now.

Korean BBQ

It's working its way through my system.  Had it for dinner and so far the results of kimchee overload haven't been as explosive as I feared they would be.  But, the day is still young.

Snork, hack, choke

Slept with the window fan blowing all night. Now my sinuses are plugged like we wish the well in the gulf was.

But, Mrs Bristol gets home tonight! Yay!!

Sleepy

Partially heat, partially life, partially the cat running from window to window.  Went to sleep (finally) about midnight and woke a bit before 5.  I need more sleep, but it ain't happening.

Bad sleeping weather

Hot.  While it did cool down to the mid 60s outside, I just couldn't get enough air flow through the house to cool it down.  When I left this morning it was down to 71 inside, the bedroom, where the window fan is, was down to about 69, so it wasn't all that bad.  Today is supposed to be warmer, yesterday was a record official high of 90, breaking a 57-year old mark.  It is supposed to cool down into the 80s over the weekend though.  On a good note, the humidity has been moderate, so it's not sticky.

Mrs. Chart will be getting home on Saturday.  She'll have to go back for the service, but needs to be home for a bit.  It'll be nice having her home.

We're havin' a heat wave

Not a tropical one though.  More a continental heat wave.  Mid-80s today and probably 90s tomorrow.  No AC in my house, but I do live on a hill, so whatever breeze there is I'll get the benefit of it.

News

Mrs. Chart's dad died early this morning.  We'll miss him.

Monday, July 5, 2010

The news isn't good

Mrs. Chart's dad is going downhill fast.  The doctor says probably less than 12 hours.  She's there with him, even if her mom isn't because the vodka bottle is more important to her than her dieing husband.

Underwhelming 4th

It  was quiet, it was calm, and it was relaxing.  Not complaining.  :-)

Part one accomplished

The grass is shorter and even now.  Still in the mid-50s, so it wasn't too bad; but it's humid today.

Celebrate!

I'm celebrating my independence by working around the house.  The lawn needs to be mowed and I need to get started prepping the house for a paint job.

3-Day weekend

And I'm still alone.  It'll be just me and the cat, maybe I'll do some car shopping.

Happy Independence Day!

Today is the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.  Http://bit.ly/x9FWG. Read.it and remember.
