Ending the year on a cold note.  It's in the mid-teens right now.

Snow

Woke to three inches on the ground and more falling.  I excavated Mrs. Bristol's car and cleared the windows; she has an appointment this morning.  I'm continuing my week of sloth; I don't have to be in the office until Monday.

Happy Boxing Day!

A quiet Christmas yesterday.  A quieter Boxing Day today.  The kattens wore themselves out with a bow, was fun to watch.

A week off

I'm taking a week off work, I don't go back to the office until after the new year.  We don't have anything planned, I may not leave the house except for errands. 

Gonna be a quiet, relaxing week, and I'm going to enjoy the Hell out of it.

Another year almost done

For some reason I'm feeling old and worn out lately.  Yeah, I was sick all last weekend; but this is more existential than physical.  Guess it's time to once again take a step back and look at what I'm doing and why I'm doing it.  Maybe some thing or things need to be changed.

Work has been brutal, home not a lot better, and now I'm sick.

Pineapple express

It's pouring ass rain out there.  There's a warm weather system pouring warm, moist air into the Seattle area.  Flood advisories on all the rivers, flood warnings on a few, landslides have closed US-2 over the Cascades, over 2 inches of rain at the house in the last 24 hours.

Taking the day off

Since Mrs. Bristol is out of town, I am taking today off, we have a new garage door being installed.  It's nice because I'm working this weekend.

They're getting so big

The kittens are 6 months old and I think one of them is going to be really big. They both are more cat than kitten now, but one is nearly the size if the older cat and he's not a dainty kitty.

Putting in some OT

I'm in the office for a while today getting stuff ready for our audit by the state EPA.

Just plain cold

When I left for work this morning the temp was 18 and the windchill was -2.

BRRR!

The first file snap is due tonight or tomorrow.  Expected highs next week are in the low 30s.  Maybe even some snow.  I guess I'll install the snow tires today.

Need a nap

U really need a nap right now.  Still another 3 hours of work to go. :(

Four Loko

If the ban on alcoholic energy drinks sweeps up coffee stout and its like in the bannination, I'm going to be mega-pissed.

In & out

Not the burger place, the closest one to me is about 4 hours drive.  Just in and out of the office today.

Sebastian Vettel!  Youngest F1 champion ever.  Great drive for Petrov too.

More household project work today

And I need to make timeto watch the Abu Dhabi GP.  Gotta see who the World Champion is.

Back to work

Out in the field again today.  I got a lot accomplished outside yesterday.  I'll pay for it tomorrow with muscle aches; but since I'll be doing more of the same, I'll really pay on Monday.

Didn't.   At 1100, Nov 11, 1918 the Armistice to end WW1 went into effect.  THAT is what today is about; not appliance sales.

Out of the office

Sitting in the waiting room

At the dentist.  Going to get the permanent crown put in.  The temp has been great, I hope the permanent is as comfortable.

We'll know in a week.  But we do know it's down to 4 with Button out of the running.  Congratulations to RBR for their constructors' championship.

I love watching F1 run in drying conditions.  The decisions in tire choice give the engineers gray hair (sorta like mine...)

It's Mine!

I can now park on my new driveway!  Woot!  Mrs. Bristol's car is there now and I'll put my jalopy there after I pick up a drip pan for its leaky rear main seal.  Yeah, I could get it fixed; but that requires pulling the transmission, and that's a lit of money for a little drip.

Christmas is coming!

Except for Mrs. Bristol and Mom Bristol, my shopping is finished.  Neener, neener.

Our national nightmare is over

Election 2010 is over!  The bad news is the 2012 election campaign started yesterday.

Research

I'm reading stacks of legal agreements and resolutions researching what other places have done.  This isn't pleasure reading, we are renegotiating our 40-year old agreements with our wholesale customers.  There are parts of my job I really don't Luke and this is way up on that list.
